Georges Brunet built the new cellar in 1972 and, with it, an underground art gallery linking the old rock-hewn cellar to the new wine warehouse.

An art lover, Brunet invited well-known artists to spend time at Château Vignelaure - which is how the collection became so exceptional: César, Buffet, Cartier-Bresson, Arman, Lartigue, Miró and more.
For each vintage of Château Vignelaure red, two artists - a writer and a designer - created an original back label, in the spirit of Mouton Rothschild.

In 2007, art lovers and collectors Mette and Bengt Sundstrøm continued the tradition. They brought new pieces to the gallery and installed imposing works in the garden and the reception hall - a collection you can discover on a guided visit of the estate.
