The Vineyard & its Terroir

The limestone-clay soil, mixed with stones and gravel, sits between 350 and 400 metres above sea level and is classified in the AOC Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation.

The vines benefit from a cool climate with wide swings between day and night - more than 20 degrees during ripening. These conditions give a slow, gentle development of the grapes, with excellent balance and a surprising freshness for a terroir in the south of France, and greatly contribute to the ageing potential of the wines, across all three colours.

To fully respect the soil and the terroir, the vineyard is farmed to organic standards.

The parcels & grape varieties

Several grape varieties make up the parcels - la Grande Pièce, la Colline and Chantemerle - used across the three cuvées: Château Vignelaure, La Source and Le Page.

• -Black grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Cinsault and Carignan.
• -White grapes: Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Roussanne and Viognier.

Merlot and part of the Cabernet Sauvignon, together with Roussanne and Viognier, sit outside the AOC and are vinified as IGP Méditerranée.
