The Estate

The Cellars

Vignelaure's modern cellars are equipped with stainless-steel tanks for precise temperature control, small tanks for parcel-by-parcel fermentation, and two pneumatic presses to extract the juice gently.

Dug into the limestone rock

Underground, an oak-barrel cellar is dug into the limestone rock. It shelters more than 300 oak barrels - 228, 400 and 600 litres - from different coopers, selected for their quality and know-how.

The Château Vignelaure red is aged in oak for 18 to 24 months before bottling. After ageing, the grape varieties are blended and bottled in one go; the unlabelled bottles then rest in our own cellars for a minimum of two years. In all, the great Château Vignelaure red is aged for a minimum of four years - in barrel and bottle - before release.

The white wines

Each white grape variety is harvested and vinified separately - part in stainless-steel tanks, part in 400-litre oak barrels. Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Roussanne and Viognier all find their place in the blends of the estate's cuvées.
